January 2019 Events: A Retrospective

Intelygenz employee David Diez giving a talk

Looking Back at our January 2019 Events

We’ve been busy here at Intelygenz HQ. In January 2019, we hosted events with some of our partners, with talks ranging from design to Amazon services and telecommunications. Here’s what happened throughout our January 2019 events.

A.I. in Communications

On January 18th, we headed to Prodigioso Volcán to talk about the impact of A.I. in the world of media. The event opened up an interesting conversation about seeing AI as an opportunity, rather than a threat.

We discussed the impact of GrafIA on RSS feeds, and the ability of an A.I. system to write news, examining the difference between creating it and editing it.

Talks were given by Cristina Aranda, David Llorente (CEO of Narrativa), Microsoft, the Technology Director of PRISA, and Rafaela Campani (from the GrafIA development team).

Do you think A.I. should be involved in the news cycle? Let us know what you think?

A Telco on the Cloud

50 DevOps met for record attendance in Madrid at our XbyOrange talk on January 16th. We explored key facts about the development of infrastructure and software in the cloud for telecommunications companies, and how certain methodologies and technical tools make it possible to launch products and services at a faster rate than competitors, whose methods and processes hinder speed.

In the case of XbyOrange, we defined the infrastructure as code, making it fully automated and following an immutable infrastructure paradigm. We inherited these concepts from the software development lifecycle. They enable the development of autonomous parts that scale automatically and are capable of being replaced at any time without loss of service.
